Characters/Stories.

It was the leader in war and espionage stories with such epics as ‘The Secret War of the Hunted Platoon' and ‘Captain Zoom'

(Birdman of the RAF) who uncovered a nest of Nazis at Lord Strathbrannan's country seat.

Its greatest character was probably ‘Big Bad Wolff' the warden of Rockwall Reformatory School, who, assisted by Blackjack Stevens and the Manhandler, outwitted ‘The Slink' and other sinister offenders on both sides of the Atlantic.

One football story was ‘Whizz Bang Bob'. Castletown Rangers FC had become famous because of their whiz bang right winger, Bob Burton. Their trainer-manager was Stonewall Bings and the first eleven trained at Bing House.

There was also a half-page comic strip ‘Wishbone Wuzzy the Merry Magician'.
